I don't believe I would have ever found the reason without your help. Spybot falls under "best" but it doesn't catch everything it should. Also McAfee and AVG (I think AVG, but definitely McAfee) are pretty much crap, and McAfee and Norton usually cause more problems then they solve... To do this open an explorer window and go to tools > folder options > view, and uncheck hide protected opsys files.
