I have a vista reinstall due to hard drive failure, and I have the same errors in the log file, and I have tried everything mentioned in this thread and windows I am trying to use Microsoft VIrtual Lab and for its working requirement its need to install RDP 7.0 version in machine .Now its not able to install from direct internet I've never really had an issue with an update, that is until the KB3004394 issue. After the above updates are installed, run msconfig.exe again and this time choose "Normal startup". It would be great to find a version of the update installer that does not produce error message 0x8000ffff.
