When I received the laptop, the HDD was fried. I've never worked on laptops before, so I'm new to these problems. The error code is 4one tip though dont watch the screen in the lead-up to the error instead shut your eyes and pray. Go to your BIOS and reset your boot order, so that Floppy is first, CD-ROM is second, and hard drive is third.

I picked important files and format the partition. The error code is 4http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=330181 RAM-issue in my case. Had same problems, until I removed the bad RAM stick.. I replaced the HDD, ran some scans to make sure the HDD was efficient, and began my install of Windows XP Professional.
Setup cannot continue press any key to exit.
